Or third day in Florida found us at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Our first stop was Camp Minnie and Mickey, where various Disney characters meet and greet with people. On hand that day was Mickey and Minnie, Donald Duck, Goofy, Chip and Dale and several “supporting characters”. We met as many as we could, as the lines just stated to get too long. I have to say that Emma met the most, as Taylor didn’t like waiting in line and Aaron felt he was too old to meet them. (Although, I did convince him to meet King Louie from the Jungle Book…only because he had no line.)
Emma met Minnie and Mickey!
Taylor met Minnie, too! While Emma was in line for Mickey (with Doug) I saw that the line for Minnie had gotten small, so I took Taylor up there (Aaron joined me to help with her so I could get a photo) and she did great! She kept grabbing Minnie’s nose, and even gave her a hug!
We spent a lot of time walking around and taking in the sights. We had time to kill until it was time for our rides (we used fast pass, loved it!). Doug and Aaron rode Expedition Everest…I chickened out. I’m not one for roller coasters anymore.
While we were waiting, Emma got her face painted. It was beautiful!
Finally it was time for our Safari!
We saw a lot of different animals. I got lots of good photos, even though most of the animals were on the opposite side as I was on. Figures.
After our Safari, we saw a 4d movie underneath the Tree of Life.
We left and went back to the cabin shortly after. It was a nice day, so we hung around outside for a while. Doug was determined to catch a lizard, so he and Emma went on a lizard hunt.
They ended up with a toad…
and a lizard!
That night, it was our intention to take Emma and Aaron back to the Magic Kingdom to see the parade and the fireworks. Right as we were going to leave, it began to storm. Emma was crushed. I felt so terrible! Luckily the rain subsided and we were able to go and enjoy the fireworks ( the parade had been cancelled ). Emma was thrilled! The following photos are cell phone photos. I did not want to risk getting my camera wet if it was to rain again. It did rain a little and I probably would have been okay, but, oh well.
That castle is so gorgeous! The fireworks show was amazing!
That concludes our Disney adventures! I have only one more day to recap…SeaWorld!
